She has also written financial articles for the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Bloomberg Wealth Manager and other publications, and her syndicated columns were published regularly in the Chicago Tribune, Denver Post, Baltimore Sun, Deseret News, among other papers.
She received the personal finance Best in Business award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, and has written three books: Rescue Your Financial Life, The Insurance Maze, and Ask Kim for Money Smart Solutions. She also wrote the Financial Field Manual: Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Guide for Military Families,which has been reprinted in three editions and is distributed to service members at military bases throughout the world.
Lankford is frequently featured as a financial expert on podcasts, television and radio. She lives in a converted warehouse in Lynchburg, Va., and enjoys spending time on the James River with her family and 1-year-old Vizsla.
